Ariento, a veteran owned cybersecurity firm that provides managed cybersecurity and IT services for small businesses in California, has backed its services with a new guarantee. "If one of our subscription clients is a victim of ransomware and has to pay the ransom, we'll pay it for them," said Founder and Managing Partner, Chris Rose.
"Our comprehensive approach to cybersecurity protects our clients from ransomware in the first place, and also from having to pay any ransom if hit with the malware," said Rose. "We discussed it internally, and came to the conclusion that if we weren't willing to back our services, what's the point."
"Nobody can 100% protect you from a data breach," says Rose, "and anybody that tells you they can is lying. That said, our defense in depth approach provides multiple layers to not only prevent ransomware in the first place, but to limit the damage by catching it quickly when it does happen, and also to recover quickly and fully from a ransomware attack."
The comprehensive, defense in depth approach mentioned by Rose includes training users on cybersecurity awareness, 24/7/365 security monitoring in the Ariento Security Operations Center (SOC), and encrypted data backup.
According to the FBI, ransomware has been on the rise in the first half of 2016.
